Split a PDF File into Smaller Files

When a large PDF contains several chapters or documents, you can split it in one click: either one file per page or custom ranges such as 1-3 and 4-6. The results are bundled in one ZIP for easy download.

Your files are never uploaded to any server; everything is processed inside your browser.

How to use

  1. Choose one PDF file.
  2. Pick a split mode: one file per page, or ranges you type separated by commas.
  3. Press “Split file”, then download the files individually or as a ZIP.

How to write ranges

Each range becomes its own file. Typing 1-3, 4-6, 7 produces three files: pages 1 to 3, pages 4 to 6, and page 7 alone. Use 5- for “from page 5 to the end” or -4 for “from the start to page 4”.

Why split a PDF?

Splitting lets you share only part of a document, stay under email attachment limits, and separate chapters or sections for different people.

Frequently asked questions

Does the page layout change?

No. Pages are copied as they are, so fonts, images and selectable text stay unchanged.

How many pages can I split?

That depends on your device's memory. Files with hundreds of pages usually work fine on modern devices.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?

No. Remove the protection first, then try again.
