How to use
- Choose one or more images.
- Set the quality (75% suits most images), the maximum width and the output format.
- Press “Compress images”, compare sizes, then download.
How does compression work?
The image is re-encoded at slightly lower quality and, if its width exceeds the limit you chose, at smaller dimensions. At 70–80% quality the difference is hard to notice in most photos, while the file shrinks a lot.
JPEG or WebP?
WebP usually gives a smaller file at similar quality and all modern browsers support it. JPEG is more widely compatible with older software and devices. Choose WebP for websites and JPEG for general sharing.
A note on transparency
When converting to JPEG, transparent areas are filled with white because JPEG has no transparency. Use WebP to keep it.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser and your images never leave your device.
Why didn't my image get smaller?
It may already be heavily compressed. Try lowering the quality or the maximum width.
Can I compress several images at once?
Yes. Select several images together and download them all as a ZIP.
