Crop Images to Ready-Made Ratios

Every platform has its preferred ratio: square for profile photos, wide for video covers, tall for stories. This tool crops the largest possible area of your image to the ratio you choose, and lets you decide where the crop sits.

Your files are never uploaded to any server; everything is processed inside your browser.

How to use

  1. Choose one or more images.
  2. Pick the ratio and then the crop position: centre, start or end.
  3. Press “Crop images”, then download the result.

How is the cropped area chosen?

The tool keeps as much of the image as possible at the requested ratio. For a wide image and a square ratio, a square the full height of the image is cut, and the position decides which part of the width is kept.

Choosing the right position

Choose “Centre” for most images. If the subject is close to one side, pick start or end so it is not cut off. If you do not like the result, try another position and compare.

Frequently asked questions

Can I draw the crop area by hand?

This tool uses ready-made ratios and a fixed position to stay fast and simple. For free-form cropping use an image editor.

Does cropping reduce quality?

The image is not scaled during cropping, so the cropped part keeps its original resolution.

Which ratio suits social stories?

The most common ratio for stories and vertical video is 9:16.
