Convert PDF to Excel (XLSX) Online

This tool reads where text sits in a PDF and splits it into rows and columns, then writes it to an Excel file in which numbers are recognised as numbers you can calculate with. It suits statements, invoices and reports that contain text tables.

Your files are never uploaded to any server; everything is processed inside your browser.

How to use

  1. Choose a PDF with text tables.
  2. Pick one sheet per page or a single sheet for all pages.
  3. Press “Convert to Excel”, then download the XLSX file.

How are columns detected?

The tool groups text on the same horizontal line into a row, splits cells where there are wide gaps, and then assigns cells to columns by their horizontal positions. Numbers with thousands separators are turned into real numeric values in the cell.

Limits of the conversion

Tables drawn with ruled lines, merged cells and tables that run across several pages may not transfer precisely and may need a small fix in Excel. Scanned files do not work because they need OCR. For Arabic files the columns are reversed automatically so they start from the right.

Frequently asked questions

Do numbers become calculable numbers?

Yes. Cells that contain plain numbers or numbers with thousands separators become numeric values.

Why are some columns merged or split?

The split depends on the gaps between texts. When gaps are small cells are merged, and you may need to split them by hand.

Does it work with scanned files?

No, they need OCR.
